The Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Collection begins March 1 – May 31, 2008 . . . and I wanted to share some of the adorable stamps that I get to play with ahead of its release. I’m featuring two of the Mini’s super cuties, 'Big on Spring' stamp set and some absolutely sumptuous 'Summer Picnic' Designer Series Paper. Think cherries, apples, dots and stripes.

'Let the Cute Begin' is an understatement of the possibilities of this stamp. Sure, on a card it’s pretty cutie-o-so (my mother’s language, but there it goes popping into my head again). However, imagine how adorable it would be on a onesie! I began with a Bashful Blue card base and layered some fun, dotted Summer Picnic designer paper on top. Then ran a vertical banner with a coordinating Summer Picnic paper, matted on Pumpkin Pie.

The main image was inked in Basic Gray on Whisper White card stock. I now use Basic Gray almost all the time over black . . . softer but still crisp. I then inked it again and stamped it on the tiny orange polka dot paper (also Summer Picnic). The onesie was snipped out and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Very sweet. Using a Real Red Marker, I continued the polka dot theme by dotting the letters (but how fun they would be to fill in, stripe, or watercolor with markers, too)! I then matted the 'cute' image on Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue.

For the final details, I pulled out Stampin’ Up!’s Build-A-Brad kit (just can’t keep these versatile guys in the drawer) and created custom brads with the same orange polka dot paper I used for the onesie. I then added just a snippet of Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon above and below the main image. This was such a quick and simple card!
